A Month of Appointments

We did a drive-by of a Sunflower Field
First of all, today feels like Monday. It's not, but it sure feels like it.  June is filled with appointments for both me and my husband.

The hubs is having cataract surgery on both eyes,( not at the same time).  His vision has been suffering for the last few months and I know he is excited to get it taken care of.

I finally made an appointment with the orthopedic doctor to get the ball rolling on my shoulder.  The pain has not gotten better, it has only increased with time.

At least we can get the ball rolling with diagnostic imaging to see what is going on.  Meanwhile, I have been using cold wraps and a TENS unit to manage the pain.

What's a TENS unit?  They are small devices that work by delivering small electrical impulses through electrodes that have adhesive pads to attach them to a person's skin.  These electrical impulses flood the nervous system, reducing its ability to transmit pain signals to the spinal cord and brain. I picked one up at Walgreen's and it is battery operated.   It helps more than I thought it would.

I am still waiting on my Covid-19 antibodies results.  A friend who went two days earlier than I did, already got her results. She was negative.

Our savings took a hit with all the vet bills associated with our bully, Princess.  You know, it is what it is.  At least we had the cash stashed and it did not end up as a charge card expense that we could not pay off.

We have had a glut of rain this week and it continues into the weekend.  It is hard to get motivated when the sun isn't shining.  When I get back from getting my haircut and picking up my glasses today, I will probably catch up on laundry.

Tonight's dinner is spaghetti with bread and salad.  It won't take long so that will be nice.  I recently painted our bedroom, this was before Princess passed, and now I am going to tackle the trim work.  Maybe today, maybe tomorrow.  More like tomorrow.

I did pick up another 10 lbs of Jasmine rice to divide up, use my seal and save and put it up as back up to whatever may be coming down the pike.  Oh yeah, we still pick up a pack of toilet paper when we go to the store.  It may or may not be needed when and if things go south again with a reboot of Covoid-19 or whatever else there is.

Are you building up your supply pantry?  Maybe you already are stocked up, what do you think is important to have on hand?

  1. I am a fan of TENS machines, my husband uses one frequently for his back. I used it when I fell and hurt my shoulder. It helped so much! And no side affects like many drugs.

  2. I hope there's nothing serious wrong with your shoulder.

We've been stocking up on t/p too. I've been buying the bulk 45ct packs at Sams whenever I can find it. I have some others too and we now have over 120 t/p rolls. Never ever do I want to get caught with too little t/p again. I'm stocking up on all things. Check my latest post for a good deal on dish soap at Walgreens.

  3. I usually don't stock up in large numbers of any one item. I do think it is good to have canned meat, vegetables, and fruits. Plus, I have some shelf stable milk--4 quarts. I got an extra foil and plastic wrap, too. I am not going to be baking, so I only have a five pound bag of sugar and one of flour. I buy jarred spaghetti sauce and spaghetti because some days only spaghetti will do. I buy Kraft Parmesan Cheese in the green shaker bottle because spaghetti needs it. I have 8 pounds brown rice, cake and brownie mixes for cookies, several boxed pasta salads. I NEVER want to run out of Miracle Whip!
