Transfer Tuesday 5/25/2021

Hello Tuesday!  This is the day that we make an extra effort to pay down our debt.  Most every Tuesday we apply extra cash (whether it be BIG or small) to our outstanding debt.  This helps keeps us aware of and accountable for our debt. And it all makes a difference.

My last Transfer Tuesday was  May 18,2021

Previous balance  on last Transfer Tuesday Post   $69,962.00

Current Balance as of today $70,092.38 (Monthly Finance Charge $130.38)

Monthly Payment due 268.65 ( Mid June 2021)

Payment of $1246.00 Monthly Payment
Payment of $38.00 made from earnings on MERCARI
Payment of   $26.00 (10% weekly gross ebay sales)  eBay

Total $1313.00

New balance   $68,779.38

When we started paying down the debt in Sept 2019 we were at $95,853.00

My inspiration for Transfer Tuesday is Pennies Not Perfection

Future Money Moves: Submitted paperwork to cash out a small VALIC ($996.00) account from a previous employer. When that check arrives and is deposited I will put 75%  (747.00) towards the HELOC.  I am unsure how long it will take to close the account, hopefully not too long.

With the payment of $1313.00  I was able to color in 3 3/4 of the pieces on my Debtris sheet.

See you next Tuesday!

Transfer Tuesday

Hello Tuesday!  This is the day that we make an extra effort to pay down our debt.  Most every Tuesday we apply extra cash (whether it be BIG or small) to our outstanding debt.  This helps keeps us aware of and accountable for our debt. And it all makes a difference.

My last Transfer Tuesday was  May 11, 2021

Previous balance  on last Transfer Tuesday Post   $70,314.00

I downloaded a new (FREE) debt tracker this weekend. "Debtris" reminds me of when I had chickenpox 30 years ago and I played Tetris during my recovery. Anyway, the tracker is fun and I like visuals to keep me on track.  There are 200 pieces of the puzzle and each piece is valued at $352.  The tracker has four levels and each level is valued at $17,579.

Today's payment is a payment towards the principal and my first puzzle piece of the game.  I moved $352 from eBay earnings to the HELOC and now the new balance is below $70,000.00

Most of my online sales took place on the weekend and the funds have not yet been transferred to the online checking account. Next week there will be more to share with payments from the other venues.  I was super excited to get the balance below $70,000, and that will change with the next bill and the interest charged, but for now, I am enjoying the small accomplishment.

Total Payment $352.00  (from eBay earnings account)

New balance   $69,962.00

When we started paying down the debt in Sept 2019 we were at $95,853.00

The interest rate is 2.24 percent. We refinanced the HELOC because the first loan was INTEREST only. That was a mistake to learn from. The new loan (started Jan 2021) applies half of the payment to the INTEREST and half to the PRINCIPAL.

Thursday Stuff

Pretty much a normal day.  After a mile walk around the neighborhood with Cricket, I packed up 5 eBay orders to take to the post office.  Typically I put all my eBay orders into a big blue Ikea bag and put them in the car.

I guess yesterday was not typical, because when I got to the post office and opened the back hatch, my big blue Ikea bag was not there. Yep, I had to go back and get the big blue bag and make another trip to the post office. :-)

The rest of the day was eBay related.  I researched and listed 10 items, straightened up the shed that holds a majority of my inventory and went through some unlisted items, and decided to re-donate them to the thrift store.

After dinner, we went to Orlando to a viewing of a close friend from church.  She lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer on Sunday.  She had the best sense of humor and my husband and I will miss her dearly.  Her husband of 43 years had multiple family members with him at the viewing and it was really nice to see all the support they both had during the last few months.

We are experiencing a cool snap in the weather. The temps today and in the evening were in the 70's and overcast. It should stay like that all weekend, which will be nice.  I am putting together a list of potential Estate Sales to hit up this weekend.  I usually go on the last day when things are 50%  (or more ) off.  I think I like looking at the homes more than actually looking for items to flip.  Some of the homes are absolutely stunning.

Hope you had a wonderful Thursday!

Gas Shortage of 2021 Quick Trip to Disney Hello Wednesday

We went to Disney (Magic Kingdom) early this morning. Our pass is blocked beginning June 1 st, so we are getting a couple of more visits in before May is over. It is hot, but we beat the heat by going early. The weekday pass has a fee of $315 per year. We try to go at least twice a month if not more to make sure we get our money's worth from the pass.

Since the trams are not yet running we have been paying for preferred parking. It costs $20 a pop, but when you have to walk a country mile to get to your car after a day at the park, it is worth every penny to be able to park upfront.  It may seem like an extravagance to some, but it is fun quality time with family for us.

The afternoon was filled with grandkids and pool time. The neighbors came over and a good time was had by all. After the grandkids and neighbors left, I packed up 3 eBay orders and did not get a chance to list any more items.  I was worn out.  Luckily, I did fill up my tank yesterday. It is mayhem out there at the gas stations.

Florida is not directly affected by the nonsense of the major pipeline (Colonial Pipeline) that was hacked by the Malware. Florida gets its gas from offshore tankers. But you can't tell anyone here that. They are all in line with their gas cans stocking up on gas like it was toilet paper. Ridiculous.

It has been a minute since my last post.  I have been keeping busy with eBay, and multiple other online selling platforms.  I have missed the self-accountability of posting my journey of eliminating debt before official retirement.

I think that I will  be posting more regularly in order to keep track of both big and small memories.  It seems that my memory is not what it use to be...

I hope all is well with you guys!
